Garage Door Questions, Answered Straight

Straight answers on what Moore Garage Door Pros fixes, what we skip, and what happens after you call. Serving Moore and the surrounding towns.

Do you work on older garage doors, not just newer ones?

Yes. Housing in this area was mostly built between 1959 and 2004, with a lot of it clustered around 1980, so a good share of our calls are original hardware from that era. We carry common torsion spring sizes and standard track parts that fit those older builder-grade doors, not just current models.

How far out from Moore do you drive for a job?

We cover Moore and the towns around it - Del City about eight miles away, Newcastle around nine, out to places like Mustang, Bethany, and Noble in the fifteen-mile range. If you're calling from somewhere past that radius, ask when you call and we'll tell you straight whether it's a trip we can make.

Will cold weather affect my garage door spring?

This area sits in a cold-moderate climate band, so steel hardware goes through real freeze-thaw cycling each winter. Torsion springs and bottom brackets take that stress over the years, which is one reason an older spring can snap on a cold morning even if it looked fine the week before.

Can you give me a price over the phone?

For a known, simple part swap, sometimes. For anything involving the spring system, opener, or a door that's behaving in a way you can't fully describe, no - we need eyes on it first. You'll get a firm number before any work starts, just not before we've actually looked at the door.

What We Will Not Do

We don't chase every job that calls. If a door is stripped of parts, rusted through at the bottom panel, and the opener is original to a 1980s build with no replacement motor available, we'll tell you that straight instead of patching it for a month before it fails again. We don't quote a repair over the phone sight unseen on anything beyond a known part swap - torsion springs and openers vary enough by brand and age that a guess costs you more than a visit.

We don't travel outside the area we actually cover. If you're calling from well past Noble or Harrah, we'll say so rather than show up two hours late. We don't install a door we think is wrong for your opening just because it's in stock - a steel panel door built for the cold-moderate swings we get here isn't the same spec as what you'd see further south, and we won't sell you the wrong one to close a sale faster.

We also don't replace a spring, cable, or roller that still has life in it just to pad a ticket. If the fix is a twenty-dollar roller instead of a full track replacement, that's what goes on the invoice.

What Comes Next

  1. You call (405) 337-9841, tell us what the door is doing

Won't open, won't close, grinding, off track, opener clicking but nothing moving - and we ask a few questions about the door's age and what's attached to it. Most homes in this part of the metro were built somewhere between 1959 and 2004, with a lot of them sitting right around 1980, so knowing roughly when your house went up tells us a good deal about what hardware we're likely dealing with before we even pull up. We give you a window for the visit, not a guess.

  2. Once we're there, we look at the spring, the cables, the tracks, the rollers, and the opener itself before we say what's wrong

You get a price before any work starts, not after. If it's a straightforward repair - a broken torsion spring, a bent track, a dead opener capacitor - we usually carry what's needed on the truck. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you that too, rather than stall. You're not signing anything you haven't seen the number on first. Once the job's done, we walk the door through a full open-close cycle with you standing right there.

The Work We Take On

Our day-to-day is torsion and extension springs, cable replacement, broken rollers, bent or misaligned tracks, opener repair and replacement, and panel damage from a backed-into door or a storm-dented section. Given that most housing stock here runs 1959 through 2004 with a median build year around 1980, a lot of what we see is original builder-grade hardware that's simply worn out - not failed because of bad installation, just decades of cycles.

We work out of Moore and cover the towns around it: Del City about eight miles off, Newcastle around nine, Mustang and Bethany both around fifteen to sixteen miles out, and further towns like Blanchard, Noble, and Jones within our drive radius too. The cold-moderate climate here means steel hardware deals with freeze-thaw swings every winter, which is part of why torsion springs and bottom brackets are some of our most common calls regardless of how new the door looks.

We don't do fence gates, shed doors, or commercial rolling doors - garage doors and the openers attached to them are what we know, and that's what we stick to.
